It was the first day out  in the 2011 fishing season, Glacier Lake was just stocked with Rainbow Trout and Scooter had on his new fishing gear ready to wade out into the waters for the first catch of the season. There was a strong under current where we were sitting so we didn't have much luck so we gathered our gear and headed down into the channel where the fish were. A gentleman just down the way had been catching trout left and right using Berkley Power Bait, he even gave us a few of his catches. The fish were being picky that day so we had to pull out the flourescent green Power Mate spray or the "squirt" and give it another try. Hmmm, well that seemed to do the trick and the first fish of the season was caught on April 25, 2011. We left the lake with a nice stringer of fish and headed home to be greeted by our puppies who wanted to see our newly found friends. I gave them a sniff and they slowly backed away as to say , pee yew, what the heck is that!!!! It was time to perform surgery before freezing our buddies. I got out my trusty filet knife and cutting board and got busy, this was the first time I gutted and cleaned fish but I did it without losing my guts. The day came to an end, we couldn't wait to get back out again.
