Scooter and I took our first trip of the season on Thursday and what a great day it was. We first scoped out some new
spots for the season at Yellow Creek Park in Struthers but the water was a bit shallow for our taste all we saw was a water
moccasin scurring across the lake down towards the bridges. There was some other great spots a little ways down but being
Glacier Lake just stocked the lake with some more rainbow
trout we thought we would try our favorite spot again by the old oak tree. Scooter latched onto the first fish for
the season by hauling in a nice 18" carp and what a fight it gave him, it took hook, line and sinker to get his bad boy to
the bank. We took a picture and sent him swimming back on his way. Then about a half hour later he latched onto a nice 15"
large mouth bass but once again it took hook, line and sinker, he was less fortunate to haul this one to shore, we tried to
grab him with a net but he was too quick, guess he must have went and told his buddies because all I caught was a sunburn
and rocked with 98.9 on the radio. We were there about 5 1/2 hrs. but we had a great time, it felt great to be back in the
great outdoors again....
