Well folks it's 2017 and Lamarr and I have already hit 4 different Lakes but our favorite so far is Newport Lake down
in Mill Creek Park. The first day we were out we cleaned up!!! We headed out to Walmart for some nice plump night crawlers
and some pan worms. Our favorite spot looked pretty bad with all the fallen trees but we still were able to find us some spots.
"Bite Me", our new bait attractant was really potent this year, woke those fish right up!!! Most
of my catches were blue gill about palm size, some a few bigger, I must have hit a school of them. Lamarr was hooking quite
a few himself but did have a nice variety of different types of fish including small mouth, pearch, crappie and the blue gill...
My biggest catch was of course the one who I got to the bank, went to get a picture but broke loose, he definitely would have
qualified for a Fish Ohio award... He was a large mouth bass I would say at least a good 15", he was meaty and strong and
what a fight I had with him... we fished for about 4-5 hrs before the storm clouds moved in. It was a wonderful day to start
out a new fishing season in...
