Today found us back at Newport Lake. Lamarr cleaned up our spot a bit more from the tree branches that fell into the water while I got everything set up...We had a great day, the fish were really hitting today. I managed to latch onto something big but never got to see it. We played tug-o-war with the line but the fish won. it stole about a foot of my line and started swimming off. We were able to watch it because my bulbar was floating right along up the lake. I would have loved to know what that was, it had my pole bent in half and each time I would pull in I would hear zzzzzzz and back out it went. I tried to adjust the tension but not even that worked. Guess he wasn't meant to be caught that day. We laughed about it for a bit as we would see the line and bulbar floating away, see ya dude, it sure was a great fight!!! Lamarr was doing great, he latched onto some of the biggest perch I have ever seen. You really do not have to go far from home to have a good time......
