The next morning we climbed out to a beautiful sunrise and the birds chirping. We got a nice fire going and cooked a
tasty breakfast before heading back out for another day of fishing. Being we didn't do too well out at Berlin camp grounds,
we decided to head back to our favorite spot down by the dam to try our luck there. Once again the sun was blazing and nothing
seemed to be biting too tough so I kicked back in my chair to catch up on some lost sleep while Scooter baked in the sun in
search of a fish worthy of bringing home but that never came about. The sun started moving so finally we found some shade
a little ways down the beach, I was refreshed and ready to go and the puppies were also. Due to the serenity and peacefulness
of the area we moved to we decided to give the pups some freedom, it was a real treat just to see what they would do. Scooter
started reeling fish in left and right but nothing much bigger than 7". We let the pups see what we caught, they seemed quite
intrigued with the fish. We took a few moments for some photos before releasing the fish back. Butch decided to try some fishing
of his own. It was hilarious, the fish was swimming through his legs and he kept trying to catch them but never could. Finally
he seemed to relax and have some fun swimming. Sassy walked down by the waters edge but was afraid to go out any distance,
just enough to cool her feet down and come back for a restful nap. About mid evening we were visited by a 3 ft long water
moccasin, he swam past then came to the waters edge looking for a photo op himself but my mind was too occupied as to where
he was headed, hoping he wouldn't come our way any closer so I missed out and Sammy never made it to the big time... We had
a great time, it was truly an experience we all enjoyed as a family. We headed back to camp around 6:45 famished. We got a
hearty fire going and I cooked some sausage and peppers, rice and corn over the fire. That night I ran into a young couple
and we began to talk about the wierd sounds from the night before. What I thought was a bear ended up being a lion roaring
from the animal sanctuary down the road. Whew, was I glad..We all crashed out around 10:15 so we could get an early
start the next day.
