Today was just perfect, the sun was shining bright and we were anxiuos to get our poles in the water.
We packed up the Blazer and headed back to our favorite fishing spot at Lake Glacier, unpacked and baited our hooks in search
of "Goliath". Scooter toosed out his line and quickly reeled in a 12" Rainbow Trout we named BoBo. He put up a nice fight
but Scooter prevailed, woahooo. Looks like this guy had escaped before, he still had a line in his mouth. What a glorious
beginning to a beautiful day. We had many hits but these darn city fish are just too wise to our ways, they would grab
the end of our worm and try to pull it off without coming close to the hook, we lost quite a few to those sneaky little slim
balls. I was getting bored waiting so I pulled out my breakfast, cream cheese jalapeno poppers are a rude awakening
to the taste buds at 10 am. I gave up after a few and decided to kick on my CD player and jam waiting for the fish to get
moving towards our lines again. There was a family of Canadian Geese close by that peaked my interest more so I took
some time out to grab a few pics of the geese as they swam by us. There were geese everywhere and as soon as they saw me pull
out my poppers they all started barking as to say "I'm Starving Man, toss one over", so just to shut them up I tossed them
a few, it was interesting to see a goose eat jalapenos but hilarious.. It shut them up real quick as they headed back
to the lake to cool their mouths down, ahhh peace at last!!!! A few folks stopped by to see how our day was going, one
family in particular had their grandson with them who was headed out for his first day of fishing and what a cutie he was.
I gave him a few worms and he wanted to see BoBo so his grandma lifted him out of the wated on the stringer for him to see.
He was anxious to get his line in the water after that and headed down to another spot further down from us. Another nice
older lady stopped for a bit to check out our fishing skills and chat, she told me she enjoyed spending time at Glacier Lake
and was considering coming back tomorrow possibly to try her hand at some fishing. I was beginning to get bored again, I kept
getting my line caught under tree stumps and rocks out half way into the river bed we were in. I had to take my shoes off
and venture out for my bobber a few times praying each time I would not mimic Scooter's famous smim at Berlin but I made it
safe with lots of mud to show. The day dragged on and we were getting hits but nothing too serious so we decided to
pack up and take BoBo home to visit and roll with the rest of his homies in our deep freezer. I was burnt and tired and ready
for bed only to get up tomorrow to try this all over again, I think this time I'll bring shrimp, maybe these fruefrue fish
will get the hint that we are not out there to play hide and seek....
