Life has been quite hectic so Scooter and I decided to take a day off and head to the lake for some quality time. It
was a bit chilly so I made sure I put on my winter gear that day. We got to the lake around 11:30 am and by 11:45 I was able
to break the ice and catch my first blue gill approximately 7" in length. Scooter was getting hits but his mind was a bit
proccupied and missed a few. As we sat beneath the tree, I began getting taken out by acorns falling not nice, Scooter got
a good laugh at the one that hit me right smack dab in the chest, ouch, now I was getting angry but the soft suttle music
playing from 106.1 helped to make things better. It was a pleasure listening to all the oldies and the fish seemed to enjoy
the music also. Within an hour I had latched onto my second fish that broke my reel and darn near took my pole. It was a weed
wiggler as I like to call them, a nice 22" carp who grabbed my line and was determined to go but between Scooter and I we
managed to get him up on shore. He weighed out at 2 1/2 lbs. a big boy to say the least. I named him Bruno. We hooked him
up on the stringer and went back to fishing. Scooter always seems to draw the turtles, he had one that would play with his
line but would end up getting off if Scooter would try to hook him, we sure thought we would be able to bring a buddy home
for Pandora but I guess today it just wasn't happening. As the day grew later the winds began to pick up and I got a bit chilly
so we decided to head home. It was a great day to be out and even a better day to be together sharing in something we both
love to do F-I-S-H...
