Today was a great day to be out on the lake, we had a small amount of drizzle but that was fine, the overcast
brought the fish to a feeding frenzy. Scooter was able to latch onto a nice 7" channel cat and a 13" rainbow trout within
the first hour. I wasn't too lucky though but Kasey Kasum and I had a great time jammin to the oldies on the top 40 countdown
on Mix 98.9. We fished for a few more hours before my luck hit and all I could get was a 4" blue gill while Scooter
was draggin' in a large fish that we never did get to identify because he broke his line and stole one of our good bobbers
and snapping turtle. He told me he had a turtle on his line and instead of grabbing the camera to take a picture, I grabbed
the net hoping to hoist him up on land until I realized he was a snapper. He broke Scooters line and got away but hung out
in the general vicinity hoping to get a meal... Scooter looked over about 10 min. later to see Goliath the Turtle attempting
to steal our trout off of our stringer. All we could see is the dead fish on the stringer heading out into the weeds.
I quickly grabbed the line and brought our trout up on shore, geesh could you believe that fish stealing varmit had his nerve.
I ticked Goliath off so he thought he would try his luck with another trout swimming in the area. He strunned it but
the fish did get away. A group of young adults come over to see if we were having any luck and saw the trout up on shore and
asked us if we were going to keep him, we gladly gave him to the teens and warned them about the snapper swimming about before
leaving. You would have had to be there to see this, we got a good laugh in for the day while enjoying good quality time together
NOW THAT WAS TRULY BIZZARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
