Today Scooter and I decided to venture out a little further to Berlin Lake. We got there around 11:30 and got situated
by the boat ramps. There was a good strong breeze blowing off of the lake which made it a bit rough. We didn't have much luck
here, the waters were still really cold and high so after about 3 hours we gave it up and headed back to our ole faithful
spot down at Glacier Lake. Around 3:15 we started getting quite a bit of action. Scooter caught the first fish of the day,
a nice 7" blue gill. We did our photo ops thing and set him free. Around 5:00 I hit it big with a piece of corn and some trout
bait. I latched onto a nice 23" carp. He gave me one heck of a fight but I prevailed in the end. I named him Joel and dedicated
him to Scooter's dad who was also an avid fisherman back in his days. We fished for another half hour before deciding to give
it up, I was getting hungry from battling with the big guy and couldn't wait to get home to my crock full of barbequed chicken.
We had a great time and shared in many laughs. We met an elderly gentleman shortly after I caught Joel who told us about a
resturant he use to go to back in his days who would serve carp sandwiches, yuck!!!! I like catfish but just can't bring myself
to eat a carp although they are a meaty fish, hmmm, maybe someday........
