Well folks this will be the last Fish Tales for the 2012 season, I hope you stop again next spring to check out what
we've been up to, where we have gone and what crazy things happen during our adventures. But for now, I would like to tell
you about our final trip to Mosquito Lake yesterday. It turned out to be a great day, the sun was shining and the temperatures
were ranging in the mid 70's so Scooter and I packed up and headed to Mosquito Lake. It was a bit windy but it didn't
keep us from reeling in the fish. I started the day off with a nice 8" perch to break the ice from then on Scooter and I were
reeling them in one after another, most at least 7-8" in size but we didn't keep any. Scooter and I both caught a few blue
gill also. The water was really low but the fish were hungry. We were catching them on baby crawlers and corn. After catching
a good 2 dozen we decided to try a new location off the causeway. There were lots of folks fishing all down the wall
not many catching much. Scooter caught yet another perch, it was small and wiggled it's way off before he got it up the rocks.
It was quite windy there so we decided to change locations again. As we were leaving and elderly gentleman latched onto a
26" channel cat, he asked us if we wanted him because he didn't know how to clean him or handle him. We took Orlando
the orphaned fish and thanked him for his generosity then headed to another part of the lake. The clouds started
rolling in and I was getting a bit chilly from lack of action so we decided to leave and take Orlando with us. We had a great
final day out fishing. Please come back next year to share in some more adventures. Have a great fall and winter all, keep
warm...
