I almost forgot to say thanks to the gentleman who orphaned his 18" Large Mouth Bass last week, he was Goooood!!!
Well anyway, today Scooter and I headed back to our newly found fishing spot. The carp were in rare form today. We tried
our best to capture just one of the big boys but all they wanted to do is steal our bait. I found a sweet spot where every
time I threw out I got hit. They were eating me alive and I was bound and determined to drag one of the big fish in. Well
guess what, it wasn't the big fish that got dragged, it was me!!!
I was attempting to bring in my fish when I slipped on the bank and fell flat on my back. If you've ever saw the old
pictures of people slipping on banana peels you would see me sliding down in the mud and the only thing I got out of it was
a 2" blue gill, CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!
As the day got later we decided to try our luck on the bank just above the waterfall, we seemed to do wonders there,
Scooter caught a 9" blue/flathead catfish and a few bluegill one 8" but we decided to be humanitarian. I had a great hit,
had my pole bent in half just beyond the bouies. We did bring home a 16" large mouth from the spot we moved to. We fished
from 10:30 till 6:00. It was a great day out on the lake and a wonderful way to spend some good quality time together...
