Today was quite an adventurist day. Once again we decided to be spontaneous despite the chill in the air and head back
to our favorite spot at Glacier Lake. Within the first 45 min. I was able to latch onto my first big catch of the day, a 12"
Carp I named Cazzie. We had quite a battle but I wore her down and became victorious. Several hours passed and we began to
think we both forgot how to fish when all of a sudden I had a wahoo moment.... I stuck my pole between my legs to get a drink
and a nice size fish hit my pole and dang near yanked me off my seat, that's where the wahoo moment came in, need I go any
further....
Right after that Scooter latched onto his pint size of pride, a 4" blue gill we called Sneeky because he kept playing
with Scooters line taking advantage of his good will to feed the fish. Hey don't ever think those little guys can't give up
a good fight...
As the sun began down it's path towards evening the fish started coming in. Nothing a little Food Club sweet corn and
a big plump juicy worm couldn't handle though. I hooked into my second fish of the day, a real shiner, a 10" Rainbow Trout
I was going to be humane and let him go until the fisherman up the way told us that once caught, they can't be sent back
or they will die so he went in for him and added him to his batch.. Right after that Scooter latched onto another Rainbow
Trout this one was definitely a keeper stretching out at a full 12". We were getting hit all around us, and what would
you know the birds didn't want to be left out so they hit too. 5:00 Charlie hit his target on my head, yuck disgusting but
true. If you ever watch MASH you would know who 5:00 Charlie is. Every day at 5:00 he would drop a bomb near the 4077 MASH
unit and everyday he would miss, guess he needed to take a bombing lesson from his counterpart....
Just before leaving, Scooter was able to reel in his last and final Rainbow, another big 12 incher and a nice keeper.
We were both getting hungry and I was getting tired of sharing my corn with a bunch of Houdini grubbing city slickers who
would steal my bait and send back a leaf in it's place. Oh what a funfilled day full of laughs that will last for a lifetime.
