Today was absolutely gorgeous, a beautiful day to be out on the lake but it looked like everyone else had the same idea
also. Mill Creek stocked their lake today with Trout and everyone wanted to try their hand at some skilled city fishing.
We arrived around 1:00pm and most of the spots were already taken so Scooter and I did not get our usual spot, we went to
one of our other favorite spots but the trout just hadn't made it down that far yet so we sat there for several hours catching
nothing but some of God's golden rays of light. We were greeted by my long lost sister who told me I was glowing since I hadn't
been out in the sun enough, well dear sis, betcha I caught up with ya now, Jergan's Natural Glow gave me a nice golden tan
today. But anyway...
We decided to change spots a little further down and had lots of hits but once again those dang city slickers know
just how to drag a line under brush to escape. 4:00 rolled around so I left to go get a bucket of the Col.'s crispy fried
chicken we sat there for another hour and still no serious action, guess their bellies were full. The fish would jump
all around us but no luck until about 7:00 when Scooter got into a heated battle with a group of blue gill, they kept
stealing his worms but once again would manage to be able to get off with the exception of one little 4" blue gill who didn't
know the ropes yet and got caught. We took our usual "Fish Tales" picture and Scooter sent him back home. Just before
dusk we caught sight to a huge beaver swimming down the lake, making his way over to the nook near by. I attempted to get
his picture but I guess Benny was too shy, tucked tail and dove down into the water. We were planning on doing some night
fishing but the batteries in our lighted bobbers died so we decided to end our trip . But before we did, Scooter wanted
to try his hand one more time and ended up pulling up an 8" channel cat. Scooter released him back to the wild as a humane
gesture and we headed for home...
