We got to West Branch State Park around 10:00 am and found a nice spot. It was really windy at first but that didn't
seem to bother us. Just staring out over the lake I got my first BIG wahoooooo moment of the season. I put my pole between
my legs to get a drink of water and to my surprise my pole started swimming and then whew, I'll just leave it to my readers
imagination where the pole went next.. I quickly grabbed the pole with two hands, my pole was bent in half but I couldn't
see yet what in God's creation I had on my line until it jumped. Half of the body in the air and half in the water, a nice
30 +" walley had me in a tough fight. Well the bad news now comes, he bent my hook and got loose, darn that could have been
my first "Fish Ohio" for the season... I just hung my head and had to let it go, what a shame, we could have had a nice fish
fry over the weekend... Scooter was doing his thing too but could only catch the blue gill, all in all over the 2 day fishing
period I would guess he had over 40. We changed spots hoping we could catch some nice size ones but the weather was starting
to cloud up. We took a few pictures over the few days we were out but we did not keep anything, too small except for his trout
and my walley... Gotta wait till the weather warms up a little, the pollen really messed with me... We're going to try our
luck again maybe next week but until then, Happy fishing!!!!
