I really missed fishing down at our favorite fishing spot at Lake Newport but it was time to move on,
it was a great day, the sun was shining and I had cabin fever so it was time to hit the road again and head out on a fishing
trip. I really didn't want to go to Berlin after catching that 2ft. fresh water jellyfish I still cringe thinking about that
nasty thing and how lucky I was it was dead when I brought it up on shore but I gave in and we went down by the boat docks
by Les's Bait and Tackle. I didn't do so well but Scooter was a different story, he was fishing as if it were a job, I believe
he caught over 2 dozen, his biggest was a 9" channel catfish. I spent more time untangling my line from the tree and trying
to catch some shade, it was humid and the sun was hot... Scooter caught a rock bass but was unsure of what it was, he kept
calling it a crappie so I told him to let me see it and that he did... Wooosh, in coming!!!! Smack right in the face, eeewwww
yuck, fish slime on the cheek I went to throw it back in and the thing cut my hand up with its fins, my fault I didn't have
them down firm enough... We fished for about six hours, I don't know how Scooter can stand sitting in that sun all those hours
but let's just say his arms were almost blue he was so dark when we got home. As far me, I got red as a beet but hey I had
a great time, I wanted to seranade the fish but what would you know I forgot my radio and my "Bite Me" was not working for
me, Oh by the way if you don't follow my stories all the time, "Bite Me" is my homemade bait attractant, it really does stink
but the fish love it along with a nice big piece of juicy nightcrawler on the end and corn in the middle- YeeeeHawww
thank God I'm a fisherman...
