Happy Fall to all, I am loving this weather and the beauty of all the changing colors, this is my favorite time of year... Went to go fishing at Mill Creek Park and there was a nasty algae bloom across the lakes, yuck, I got a nasty infection on the back of my leg the last time algae hit the waters, I slipped in the mud and ended up in the lake on my behind and now I have some nasty scars on the back of my leg, never again. Berlin's water is really low, Milton was a waste of time, We may try Guilford the next nice day, we did well with perch and small mouth bass, they weren't Fish Ohio trophies but we do catch and release anymore just for fun. We still have half of the two 20" channel cats we caught earlier this season and some of the muskie, I'm not a big fish eater anymore but every once in a while I cook some up but anyway...
I'm really starting to become a homebody, I picked up another bunch of nice puzzles, I got 10 in a box by Thomas Kincaid, they are really nice, I only paid $.35 at a thrift store, what a deal so I sit and put puzzles together when I am bored or can't sleep...
Well enough rambling....
I hit the big "50" in a few weeks, whew I am getting old!!!! I was listening to Garth Brooks song "I'm Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old", isn't that a fact, artie (arthritis) hits me every morning and goes from joint to joint, Thank God for Aspercream and Icy Hot, gets me going along with a nice hot shower then I am fine, most of the time....Don't know what I am going to do, probably just be a couch potato bum, I'll make honey cook me some dinner and a cake, I taught him well in the kitchen, he can burn (in a good way)..
Our poor animals are going crazy scratching from fleas, I swear these suckers are mutant this year. I have tried everything with them and it doesn't help, the cat is scratching really bad also, the last time I bathed him he attacked me with his claws until he realized the flea and tick shampoo was making him feel better... My sister taught me a little trick to eliminate fleas in the house, I have tried all kinds of sprays and powders and they don't help most of the time. Scooter even steam cleaned the carpets and it drove them crazier so my sister told me to put a white dish down on the floor with some vinegar in it. The white plate draws them and the vinegar attracts them, the apple cider vinegar works better than the white... I do believe most come in from when we had the air conditioners in the windows through the areas we didn't have sealed well enough, we took them out and they slowed down a bit after we cleaned the furniture and floors.. Hopefully winter will kill those mutant non-rent paying ankle biters.....
Well folks, I just updated my Birthday greetings for October, there were quite a few, some are not with us anymore but will always be remembered..
Hey how about those Indians, they are rockin' this year and breaking all kinds of records, good job guys... YSU and Ohio State are kicking butt also. I use to go to the YSU games when I was a student but haven't been there for several years, I prefer to watch them on the tv..
I made some stuffed peppers and some peanut butter cookies this morning so we can catch the Cleveland/ Cincinnati game at 1:00 and I won't have to get up and cook in the middle of the game... We don't eat big meals anymore, the peppers are a full course meal for me, it has a veggie, meat, bread in meat(bread crumbs), dairy (cheese and eggs) and a starch (rice) in peppers along with my favorite GARLIC so that's good for me...well I am outta here for now, hope you all enjoyed the new updates the other day, I enjoy the change....Columbus Day is coming up soon and Halloween. I'll probably deck the yard next weekend, I don't think I'll do treats this year, I don't get too many and I get tired of sitting outside freezing... I may change my mind but we'll see...
