There is wisdom in words

We speak everyday

To teach others the truth

To show them the way

From a parent to a child

Sometimes what we say

May seem to hurt

But is not meant that way

But to teach what is needed

From right to wrong

To never give up

To always be strong

So forgive me for just showing

How much I do care

When I speak words of wisdom

So to help you out there

I've been through so much

I've learned to endure

I've learned to carry on

I've learned the cure

Please open your heart

Your souls and your mind

And listen to the words

For they not are all mine

But those I have learned

Along the way

To be who I am

For this I do say
