Today I planted flowers
A garden full of love
Of memories of years gone past
And God's touch from up above
I often sit and reminisce
Of childhood memories
And how you use to love to plant
The flowers you and me
Together we would dig
Beneath the earth so deep
And plant the pretty flowers
Then drift gently off to sleep
The sun and rain would flourish them
With each day that passed by
Just as God has flourished you
With strength and love and pride
And now that you have grown my son
From a boy into a fine young man
I'll always cherish the memories
That grows within the land
We may not plant our garden no more
With pretty flowers fragrant and true
But I'll never forget the fun we shared
With our garden just me and you...
