Grilled Beer Can Chicken ***NEW***

grillbeercix.jpg

I saw this recipe on Mr. Food on the local news and it looked interesting so I just had to give it a try. I always like to modify things so I put a twist on this tasty treat and boy was it awesome but make sure you have plenty of napkins, it really is juicy... You can really use any type of beer but I liked the Honey Lauger it gave the chicken a sweet barbequed grilled taste when mixed with the honey barbeque sauce.

Ingredients

1 whole roasting chicken
1 can Brown Honey Lauger
1 bottle Open Pit Honey Barbeque sauce
Garlic Salt, Seasoned Meat Tenderizer mix for a rub
Top with with Beer Can Seasoning made by Weber

Instructions

1. Clean chicken well remove gizzards and neck from inside and wash well.
2. Pat dry and spinkle Garlic Salt and Tenderizer mix onto chiken like a rub then spinkle Beer can seasoning onto the chicken generously for flavoring.
3. Pour half can lauger into a glass to enjoy while waiting...
4. Pour half bottle of Barbeque sauce into beer can and swish together
5. Sit chicken on top of beer can by hole where guts were removed and place into or on a baking pan you can put onto the grill.
6. Place chicken onto a lighted grill medium flame and cook for approximately 1  1/2 hours.
The juices from the can will cook it from the inside out.
7. After the 1 1/2 hours, pull the chicken off the beer can and lay down in pan.
8. Pour the juices from the beer can over the chicken and continue cooking for about another hour flipping the chicken over and back several times so top and bottom both cook well.
9. Check with fork for white meat, no pink should be found when done.
10. Remove from grill and place into another pan and pour juices over the chicken, cut and enjoy.

This recipe when made right is very juicy and delicious with that touch of grilled flavor we all love.....
