friedfish.jpg

2 C. Bisquick
1 egg beaten
1 C. milk
2 tsp. garlic salt or (reg. salt if you don't like garlic)
1 tsp black pepper
 1 tsp seasoned meat tenderizer
4-6 fillets of any type of fish. (Clean well if fresh caught, descale, fillet to remove bones)

Olive Oil for deep Frying (you can use any oil, but olive oil is healthier or canola oil)

Heat oil on medium heat.

Add Bisquick, egg, milk, salt and pepper and meat tenderizer in a bowl, mix well untill all lumps are gone, you can add more milk to make it like a batter if too thick but don't thin out too much.

Dip fillets into batter then drop into hot oil cook until outer layer, batter is golden usually about 2-3 min. remove and place on paper towel to remove excess oil.

You can get creative with your batter and add some beer to make it a true beer battered fish. Do Not overcook, it should be flakey inside.

If you do not have Bisquick, try substituting  complete pancake mix that just takes water to make batter, it gives it sort of a sweet taste but it works just the same.
