JT was always into sports growing up. He played mushball for Girard Mushball League on the
light blue team, football for Girard Little Indians from age 8 on and football for Girard Indians, Liberty Leopards, McDonald
Blue Devils and Sharon Tigers. He loved to wrestle also and wrestled for Liberty High where he took 6th place in the regionals he
also ran track and was quite a deer. Everyone was so proud of him and would support him at his games. One of the funniest
times I can remember while playing football was the game he played against Hubbard, He had the ball and was running down the
field, he made the comment about how he just so happened to glance over and saw his Nonnie running down the
track with him yelling "Go JT Go!!!", He scored his touchdown that game and will always remember
Nonnie in her 60's as she ran with him, it was quite a sight to see how his grandma was so excited to see him score!!! When
JT played for the Girard Little Indians, I can recall a game where he broke his finger by jamming it into his opponents shoulderpads,
he never once complained and continued to play, it was his dedication that carried him through and his strength that
made him the man he is today.
Grandma Owen,Aunt Diane and Aunt Michele also were big supporters for him in all the
sports he played always cheering from the stands along with his dad, mom, and brothers, poppie, and Aunt Carol
on occasions. Those were some of the best years of his life and will always be remembered, for it was the love of sports
and the dedication he had in his heart to be the best he could be, Go the Distance JT!!!!
